This course is designed to provide students with a knowledge of:

- Healthcare Infection Control related policies and procedures
- The importance of infection Control in everyday workplace routines
- Theory relating to infection spread/ transmission

Infection Control in the workplace:
- Importance of understanding infection transmission – Virus v Bacteria
- Commonly encountered infections in the workplace
- The chain of infection, and the principles of breaking the chain of infection
The principles of good infection control:
- The dangers to the service user and provider - Hazards & Safety measures
- How to break the chain of infection
- Preventing harm – minimiszing further harm
- The importance of hand Hygiene
- Hand washing & hand gels
Hygiene standards and procedures:
- Standards and best practice
- Management of Blood and bodily fluids spillage
- Management of Dirty linen, soiled clothes,
- Risks and management of Sharps exposure or inoculation injury
Participant Profile:
This course is aimed at all levels of healthcare professional where infection control and management is required whether it be a nursing, childcare, medical or dentistry related environment.

- A full refund will be granted if a booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the booking.
- If a booking is cancelled after 24 hours there will be a 50% charge and 50% of the booking fee will be refunded.
- No refund will be granted if a booking is cancelled within 7 days of the course date.
